One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of fitted healthcare furniture – David Bailey Furniture Systems – has completed a supply and install contract worth £14,000 at St. Helier Hospital in Carshalton, Surrey.
Trevor Gillman, Managing Director of David Bailey, said: “Together with main contractors, Casey Construction, we have created a more sterile environment with up-to-date facilities that will benefit both staff and patients.”
Fitted furniture from David Bailey’s Healthline range was installed as part of the refurbishment in the hospital’s reception areas, patients’ resource room, foetal medicine department, medical records centre and ultrasound facility.
A neutral colour scheme combining clear maple doors and beige worktops was chosen. All worktops were supplied with rounded, post-formed vertical edges for a clean, professional finish and added safety.
With over twenty-five years experience, supplying fitted hospital furniture to the healthcare sector - David Bailey is a trusted name in NHS and private hospitals.
The NHS Trust is planning to invest £190 million in a major redevelopment project at St. Helier hospital to replace Ferguson House with a state-of-the-art 20,000-m² seven-storey building. With 348 beds, the new building will house the majority of St. Helier’s wards and clinics. The redevelopment is part of the Better Healthcare Closer to Home initiative and is due to start in 2012.
